When was the last time you saw a lined-up outside a Canberra Jewellery Store?
Its the first ime I have seen a jewellery store with people lining up to get into it.
How was it done?
- The tactics that used, is first a Sale, nothing new here.
- Create a super offer with scarcity. The Jewellery store only allowed customers to get the special at certain times of the day. In fact it was twice on that particular day. They has a Super Specials in a window (the stuff you can get for a bargain), but you could only access those products at 9am and 6pm.
- They had other specials, that you still could go in and have a look at and purchase, but not at the Bargain Window prices.
- They had a spruiker (announcer) on the microphone.
- The flurry of people going in and out as well as the line up outside created demand, curiosity and scarcity. The curiosity was in fact created with all the above items, but people thought that they might be missing out on something. Which then created a demand to get in and get a deal or line up for a deal.
This is an excellent piece of marketing that was displayed, especially with the lack lustre of all the other store in this shopping centre, which all looked the same. Sale, SALE, Sale.
